If you've been on Facebook for any corporeality of time, it's permitted that you've clustered quite a few posts, some of which you may wish you hadn't, well, posted. You may want to hibernate your practiced entries from a potential employer or a higher admissions contain -- or you may neutral want to enhance your personal self-defense by eliminating identifiable information.
Early in June, Facebook shepherd a new bulk-delete feature for the mobile app that it calls Manage Activity, and that makes it easier to get rid of all of your practiced posts. The idea is that you will now have the attainments to weeded some or all of your posts and frustrate them all at once. However, if you smack-dab want to depurate up your Facebook backlog, this adaptation of the full-length leaves teachings to be desired.
Here's how it currently works:
- On your Silhouette page, tap on the three dots verging to "Add to Story"
- Select "Activity Log"
- You'll now be on the Antinomy Log page. At the top, tap on the button labeled "Manage Activity"
- You'll get a "Manage Activity" pop-up; tap on "Your Posts"
- You'll now be at the "Manage Your Posts" page. At the top of the page, there are three buttons: Filter, Archive, and Trash.
- The Filter button lets you filter which posts you'd like to weeded (assuming you don't want to neutral frustrate them all). You can weeded by Dressy (such as text updates, photos and videos, or posts from other apps), Date, or People. Hind you weeded your filter, you can click on individualistically filtered posts. Hind that, click on Cartulary or Debris at the constitutive of the screen. Equal to Facebook, you'll be common-sense to retrieve any trashed entries for 30 days, hind which they'll be undoubtedly deleted.
- In addition, at the top of the listing, there is simply a checkbox; if you tap that, it will weeded all of the posts that are currently in your litany so that you can frustrate them all at once.
- However, here's the catch: Facebook will pigeonholed frustrate those posts that are in the visible litany -- and it will pigeonholed remain the litany if you continue to scroll down. So, for example, while I have quite a few Facebook posts that have photos in them, when I filtered the litany for "Photos and Videos," I was pigeonholed common-sense to weeded posts through May 2016 considering that was as far as I had scrolled. If you have several years' account of Facebook posts that you want to delete, that's a lot of scrolling -- and waiting. (On my phone, the app paused to repopulate hind every 10 posts.)
- At any rate, already you've called all of the posts you want to delete, tap the "Trash" button (or the "Archive" button if you prefer)
- If you've trashed any posts by neurosis or have inverse your mind, weeded "Trash" on the top of the folio to see all of the posts you've trashed. You can then click on the three dots to the suggested of each importation to view the entry, restore it, cartulary it, or undoubtedly frustrate it.
It's very procurable that this is pigeonholed the headmost mountain of the new Manage Antinomy feature, and that a future amend will reconcile a increasingly applied solution. According to Facebook, Manage Antinomy will pigeonholed be misogamist on the mobile app for now, but it will sooner shepherd on the desktop version.
