Intel is selling its SSD business to SK Hynix in a deal account $9 billion, which will see the chipmaker barely completely route the shine memory and accumulator marketing -- except for Intel's high-end Optane memory technology, which it'll still be hanging onto. The deal includes Intel's hard-hearted NAND SSD, component, and dent businesses, forth with the company's NAND factory in Dalian, China.

It'll be some time until the deal categorically takes place: the two companies are starting to get governmental clearance for the purchase, which they don't foresee to get until "late 2021." Until that happens, Intel will still dwell to manufacture NAND articles at the Dalian factory and alimony all its IP rights.

The move marks the latest consolidation for Intel, which has monochrome to focus farther on its helpers chipmaking and memorandums center businesses in contempo months. Intel moreover recently sold its 5G modem marketing to Apple last year in a deal account $1 billion.
