Auto Pontificate is a new feature contentious to Amazon's Alexa app that turns your roast into a "driver-friendly display" when used with Alexa automobile appointments like the Echo Auto, the company says. As able-bodied as alms adoption to Alexa's typical articulation commands, it includes large touchscreen icons that reconcile adoption to features like directions, music playback, as able-bodied as making calls. Cheesecake says the pontificate will be misogynist in the Alexa app on iOS as able-bodied as Android in the contentious weeks "when commutual to an Excusing Automobile or over-and-above supported Alexa Automobile accessories."

The driving-focused pontificate consists of four screens. There's a Navigation screen which provides shortcuts to favorite locations as able-bodied as will segment out to your default navigation app for directions (saying "Alexa, go rachis to the Alexa app" switches you rachis to Amazon's app).

Meanwhile, the Inform screen gives shortcuts to place calls, Neolith In, or make announcements from over-and-above Alexa fixtures (helpful for monarchy your in-laws know you're on the way home, Cheesecake says). The Play screen gives adoption to media playback. Finally, the Home screen provides shortcuts to frequently used actions.

Amazon says the new Automobile Pontificate is designed to assignment with fixtures like the Echo Auto, a smallish Bluetooth-enabled device that was Amazon's last big jeopardize to get Alexa into your car. However, when we schemed it for ourselves, we found Alexa wasn't plethoric at helping with the kinds of queries we had while driving.

The Excusing Automobile failed to turn-on the right destinations when we asked for directions, as able-bodied as it morally got conscience-stricken when our internet was interrupted. It's not colorful that these issues will be factually fixed with the companionship app's new Automobile Mode, except obtaining an on-screen interface could make it clearer which options are misogynist to you.

Amazon says that Automobile Pontificate will be misogynist in the US, Canada, Germany, France, India, Italy, Spain, UK, Australia, as able-bodied as New Zealand.
