Apple continues to hypothesize trouble with its new deficiency app settings in iOS 14 and iPadOS 14. Sequential it was discovered that power cycling devices would flip the defaults for email and web browser piggy to Apple's own apps, the convergence quickly patched that issue.
But now it's been revealed -- and The Verge has confirmed hereupon -- that whenever you amend your chosen deficiency app (like Gmail or Microsoft Edge) in the App Store, it gets booted out of the deficiency app slot. Having to reselect Gmail or Perspective as your transoceanic deficiency email app every time Google or Microsoft releases an amend is less than ideal.
