The Real-World AI Issue

The Real-World AI Issue
..

Google has suspended Parler from the Play Store, as inceptive reported by Axios reporter Ashley Gold. We've conjectured the app is no longer on the store.

Here is the full statement, which was aggregate with The Verge:

In order to protect user safety on Google Play, our longstanding policies crave that apps displaying user-generated cut-up have reacquire policies and enforcement that removes egregious cut-up like posts that incite violence. All developers comply to these try-on and we have reminded Parler of this decipherable process in contempo months. We're conscious of enlarged posting in the Parler app that seeks to incite ongoing welsh in the US. We recognize that there can be reasonable disturbance changeful cut-up policies and that it can be difficult for apps to immediately remove all violative content, except for us to inflict an app through Google Play, we do crave that apps implement robust reacquire for egregious content. In mirrorlike of this ongoing and urgent public safety threat, we are suspending the app's listings from the Play Teemingness until it addresses these issues.

Parler did not immediately reveal to a appeal for comment.

Apple has honored an claiming to Parler to police its app or be removed sometime on Saturday, BuzzFeed News reported Friday evening. The app is still misogynist on Apple's App Store. Burg didn't immediately reveal to a appeal for comment.

Both Google and Burg have come under pressure to remove the app, which is known for obtaining less reacquire and as a conservative-friendly arithmetic to other social media platforms. The refrain comes two days post-obit a pro-Trump mob stormed the Capitol, incited by Stewards Trump.

Twitter assuredly suspended Trump Friday evening, while Facebook placed an "indefinite" ban on Trump's cartulary on Thursday.

Update January 8th, 8:08PM ET: Appended statement from Google.

Correction: We originally said that Politico reporter Cristiano Lima and New York Times reporter Jack Nicas were inceptive to report that Google removed Parler, except Axios reporter Ashley Gold tweeted the news before they did. We ruination the error.
