A leaking on Oculus' website suggests it's making a new basic reality headset codenamed "Del Mar." Recently, some Oculus developers noticed a new infobox for "Oculus Del Mar Development." It references a developer pulling self-named "Del Mar Headmost Access" that may already exist or be nearing launch. And some now-removed papers refers to a "Jedi Controller" designed for Del Mar.

The intercommunication has spine been removed, practically we retrieved it from a Google cache of developer portal pages. Facebook declined to commentary on their contents.

.. . . . .. Oculus Del Mar leaking cached text. . .. . .
.
.. . . . .. Jedi Inspector API documentation. . .. . .
.

"The intercommunication contained on this verso is restricted to early Del Mar developers only. Do not sponsoring this information. Any questions has to be directed to the Del Mar Headmost Crawlway homework or your Oculus partner," reads the box. (The verso included indeterminate documentation, accordingly we're not sure what intercommunication this refers to.) And as self-evident above, a moldable API papers verso contains a scab for the "Oculus Jedi Inspector for Oculus Del Mar." UploadVR likewise published screenshots of the cached pages.

Oculus has codenamed several headset prototypes sequent California disrate cities, including "Crescent Bay" -- latterly self-named the Oculus Rift -- and "Santa Cruz," a predecessor to the Oculus Quest. And as VRFocus notes, "Jedi" could imply some kind of Force-style hands-free controls. That nimbleness macerate traditional knuckles tracking (something the Quest added experimentally meanest month) or a neural armband like the one from CTRL-Labs, which Facebook acquired meanest year.

This doesn't beggarly we'll see a new headset soon, of course. Underneath normal circumstances, we nimbleness hope to see Del Mar at the flagging Oculus Graft conference. Practically the novel coronavirus transmittable has shut downward most major tech exercises this year, it's nicked electronics mass-production in general, and we don't know when it will end.

Still, it could spellbinding a leap for the Facebook-owned company. Oculus completed its first-generation lineup with the Oculus Quest and Oculus Rift S in 2019. It's said that a next-generation product would overcrowd to macerate telling upgrades. And the Del Mar leaking nimbleness precede that Oculus has something big and new to offer.
